City life would not feel the same without trees. They provide shade and color to the streets. But aside from the visual pleasures we get from trees, there are also some not so visible things that trees do for us that we often forget. They are a powerful tool in fighting global warming by absorbing carbon dioxide and cleaning the air. But as the population grows, traffic in the cities thicken, and air conditioners run full blast all summer, the levels of carbon dioxide keep increasing. Preserving and planting trees to absorb CO2 and other pollutant gases becomes more and more important.
