Tree Love

This banner concept was lead by a Baltimore based graphic designer and an elementary school art teacher, driven by a group of 3rd grade students and their love of trees.

The adults provided a format and materials for the children and lead them through a conceptual conversation culminating in a work session in which abstract paintings were created. The students’ ideas and favorite things about trees were shared: “Trees are awesome!” “Trees give us air.” “Sometimes I climb a tree and rest.” This is a picture of a tree with the air all around it.

The designer created the tree and background then scanned and masked the students artwork to form the leaves.

This 3rd grade class had a great time and are excited to share their “voice” for green mindedness and improvements in Baltimore City!
