One of the unique things about Baltimore is its tightly knit neighborhoods. Using the metaphor of Baltimore as a tree, the trunk is composed of the names of many of our neighborhoods–representing the strength that Baltimoreans have when focused on a common goal. The leaves are created of maps of the city, because that is where the actual “greening” of Baltimore starts, on the individual and neighborhood levels. When sustainable thinking becomes the norm, the citizens begin to demand it from the city. Are our city vehicles hybrids? How about a how–to–green–your–roof seminar? Every Baltimorean can contribute to a “greener” city regardless of their neighborhood.
