Visit Your Local Branch
Sponsored by Gensler Architects
What can be said about this piece that isn’t obvious? First and foremost, this is a twist on a very familiar phrase that we all associate with retail establishments like banks. But of course, for this effort, the term “branch” is something entirely different. It’s an integral part of a bigger thing, the all-important tree. And, perhaps more importantly, it’s a critical call to action. It’s not just a request to support trees. It’s a cry to “visit.” To go experience what a wonderful thing trees are in the landscape of concrete and metal. Trees are living. Trees are life.
Importantly, this is not a cry to abandon city living. After all, many wonderful things come from city living. It is only a charge to enjoy nature within our city. To embrace the beauty that trees add to the parks and neighborhoods of Druid Hill, Wyman Park, Herring Run, and Patterson Park, and beyond.
